Lost Hikers Rescued At Tram 5/5/13

Four hikers got rescued at the Tram Sunday and didn't have to sleep in the barn.

I think I passed this group on the way up and the way down. They may have gone astray on the descent at that part of the trail just below the junction with the old trail. If you are tired it can appear that you are approaching Wellman Divide but in fact there is another long traverse south west to get there. I redirected a couple of other hikers who lost the trail at that point, where a snow bank encourages you to leave the trail. If you lose the trail at that point and head down thinking you will hit Round Valley, you end up in the woods in the vicinity of Tamarack valley.
