I wonder if FO has started doping in the last few years. He is getting up there in age...

I've got $0.25 that says that the strongest drug that FO uses is warm milk. And not before hikes.

In vaguely-related news, I have a one-time hiking partner who is currently a grad student at... drum roll... (FO would be proud).

'Tis a bit unfair to post about someone unable to respond, so please pardon a bit of channeling on FO's behalf (TIC)

There's something about a Fight On post that makes me long to drink a cup of coffee while trespassing...

Ze, we had an interesting encounter yesterday, almost better than FO. we were in the san gabriels getting ready to head off the trail and go do a canyon, minding our own business and having a bite to eat when along comes a guy and starts asking us why all the big packs blah blah blah, then realized we had ropes and gear. He proceeds to ask what we "girly men" were up to, and if we knew what we were doing. in the next few minutes he referred to us as girly men so many times if was freaky.

the guy was a complete ass.

we talked a bit more an he sounded like a big authority on canyons in the san gabriels, telling us this and that and blah blah blah. bringing up a website ( http://www.dankat.com/advents/advents.htm) that has "ALL" the info and we should check it out and learn something.

Our group : Chris Brennen, Mark Dutwieller, Kirk Belles and a couple others out for Marks birthday.

what a putz.......turns out it was the beast 666

really an ass.

He'd also never done anything technical in a canyon.

Well Steve,
I did always think your hair was a little long & your pants a little tight, I think that dude was on to something!!??
Besides, why not just take a bungee rope instead of those girly-man ropes ya'all use??!! Way more fun when you bounce back up a few times & hit yer head on some overhang!
