Palm Canyon rescue

Postby Florian » Fri Feb 22, 2013 6:00 pm

Someone fell off their horse in Palm Canyon today. There were two helicopters plus the Highway Patrol airplane circling. Not exactly a quiet hike. Looked like the accident was near the intersection of Dry Wash and Palm Canyon trails.

Here is a track of my hike up Wentworth Canyon and back via the Vandeventer trail .. http://connect.garmin.com/activity/276385790

On my way out i stopped along the road about half mile from where the command center for the search was set up to watch the helicopter but a tribal ranger told me to get back in my vehicle and leave the area. I guess it's their land and they can tell you what to do. Phtht. Beautiful day otherwise.

The tribe, like our own govt., needs to recognize that they serve the people, not the other way around. The sooner we establish that, the better all of us live in peace.

Thanks for the post, Florian.

In my experience the tribal rangers have been unusually dickish on more than one occasion. They have quite an attitude.
