This is very sad -- I am keeping the climber's loved ones in my thoughts and prayers

Many of us climbed the Baldy bowl (XC snow climbs) on Saturday. It isn't clear where the gentleman fell. The Baldy bowl trail (aka Ski Hut trail) had some very icy sections. Even with microspikes, hikers were loosing their footing on the section of the trail where the bowl/ski hut trail switchbacks down through the trees.

The center and right of the bowl (XC snow climbs) were melted out -- conditions were lousy. Most climbers went up the far left side next the trees.

Very sad news. Bad things can happen in the blink of an eye.

Condolences, thoughts and prayers for all of his family, friends, and loved ones.

Not sure of the total count, but there was an Asian woman who also fell on Baldy, due to ice, last year. Also unwitnessed.
