Great day for San Gorgonio!

Postby Sally » Thu Dec 06, 2012 12:44 pm

Ellen, Marilyn and Perry let me choose the hike for my birthday, and I thought a good thrashing was in order, so I chose the route to Dobb's and onward to San Gorgonio Peak. As always, this hike delivered on providing a good thrashing. When we got to Dobb's Ridge there were some tiny patches of snow, and also some glittery piles of ice that had fallen from trees. We did not need our microspikes.

When we got to San G Peak there was a cold wind blowing, and we bundled up and had lunch. We enjoyed the great visability.

After the lo-o-o-ong hike down the Vivian Creek Trail they treated me to dinner at El Mexicano.

Thanks, friends for helping me celebrate my last day of being 56 (er, I mean 28!)

Howdy Sister Sally :)

Thanks for letting us join you for your birthday celebration 8)

I swear, that blasted trail from Halfway camp (what a misnomer) back to the car keeps getting longer every time I hike it :? We need the Trail Shrinker. Also couldn't believe we were plagued by gnats in DECEMBER on the steep drop into Mill Creek  Someone needs to tell the bug farm to take a break

Looking forward to another adventure next Wedenesday.

Hugs,
Ellen

Sounds like a great hike, and would you look at the atmospheric clarity! NICE!
