Saturday's Skyline

Postby DancesWithTheMountains » Mon Dec 03, 2012 3:20 pm

Hi everyone,
It was another great day on Skyline. The temp was till a little warm
and humid but, I had a really easy day of it. Saw Scott, hiked a little
with Ojas and Caesar, which is always a pleasure, and ran into Fernando
as he made his way DOWN the trail from the top. I started to laugh when
I saw his bare footprints on the trail. That man is amazing!!! It was pretty
quiet on the trail which was nice. Hey Ellen, did I miss you again??? How
about Steve and Patti??? Were you two there??? Sorry if I missed all
of you. I'm sure you all passed me on a short cut(lol). See you all very
soon.

Howdy Doreen, My Skyline Queen :)

I left with a group of friends at about 5:30 AM on Saturday. It was too warm and humid for me, though a day on Skyline with friends is always a good day 8)

It was great to see Ojas and Caesar on the trail. InFerno passed us both on his way up and on his way down  Diana passed us as well. We left a car at the lower tram station and thanks to other friends were able to shuttle folks back to the museum.

I haven't ever walked from the tram back to my car. You're amazing and continue to be my inspiration 8)

From the heart,
Ellen

Hi Steve and Ellen,
I hate when I miss you guys on the trail. I like my hugs!!! Hey
Steve, I can't believe you started that late. I would have been dead
at that time. The heat alone would have killed me. You are amazing.
Ellen, of course, you are and will always be my inspiration! I think I may
do San G this weekend. Does anybody know if there is any snow on that
trail??? I like the South Fork trail better than Vivian. Let me know if
any of you know about any snow.
See you all soon

Howdy Doreen, my Skyline Queen :)

I miss my Doreen hugs too!

I went up San Gorgonio via Vivian with friends yesterday. There's hardly any snow on either the south or north side.

When I go up Southfork, I usually go up by Dollar and down by Dry Lake. The switchbacks on the north side coming down to Dry Lake can be very icy at this time of year, though we weren't able to see them.

It should be absolutely gorgeous, have a great time 8)

I'll be on Skyline Saturday to celebrate HJ's first trip.

Hugs,
Ellen

Hi Ellen,
Thanks for the update on San G. I'm not going to make it after all.
Will be on skyline tomorrow. I probably won't see you because I won't
be starting till around 6:00. Have a great hike. Its still going to be a little
on the hot side again. Don't know when winter is going to get here!!!.
Happy Trails

Hi, Doreen,

Very nice to meet you on Skyline today. Thanks for all the pointers on the tricky spots on the trail.
