Skyline / C2C Oct 6th?

Does anyone know, are there any groups doing this hike on the 6th, or is it still too hot? I was thinking of doing C2C, but I don't want to go alone. I've actually NEVER hiked Skyline with someone else, and I've been a bit nervous/freaked out/scared more than a few times on it.
I did a quick search and couldn't find anyone doing it this weekend.

Howdy DK

A good sized group from the San Jacinto hiking club is heading up Skyline tomorrow at about 4 AM. The NOAA forecast shows a low of 69 in Palm Springs and a high of 93.

I know this seems early but it gives folks without speedy alien DNA the opportunity to get above 4 K before the sun rises at 6:43 AM.

The high at the Tram is forecasted to be 65 -- Fall is finally here

As Speedy Steve noted, I'm sure lots of folks will be out on the trail tomorrow.

I can't go until 10/11. That will be my maiden voyage for this season, and perhaps the first time I've gone without snow, and without Russ or Fern (also Linda) . Unless of course....Would love to meet up with Ellen, Sally, Steve, even a glimpse of Tina??

Howdy All

I would love to see Carl F this Thursday (10/11) but need to rest my legs before doing the R2R2R (over two days of course) in the Grand Canyon this weekend. Hopefully we'll get some good snow on San Jacinto this winter for a snowshoe.

It was warm and humid at the start. I got to see DK briefly before starting. Folks like Perry who tolerate heat well weren't affected but my butt was dragging. I was fortunate to hike with a really nice group of folks from the San Jacinto hiking club -- Hengst Joe, Marilyn T, Liz A, Mike M, Rich, Elizabeth and Bob -- and we had a great time suffering together Elizabeth and Bob headed up towards the summit and the rest of scrambled up the rocks.

Speedy Steve and Ania popped up at Grubbs shortly after us -- they started several hours or more later. The Arrogant Bastard beer at the tram bar was heavenly, thank you Liz I think the Stone brewery should make an Arrogant Bitch beer, but Steve suggested that throwing a cherry in the AB would suffice

Thanks to Rich and Marilyn for getting us from the tram back to our cars at the museum and to Liz for a fabulous lunch at Las Casuelas

Heading up again with the Craigmeister tomorrow

I was so happy I found my phone that I went down skyline after! So I guess I did a SC2C2C! 10 hours 15 miuntes to the summit, 15 hours 53 minutes total. Been starting at the corner of hwy111 and snowcreek rd.

Forgot to mention that some !@#$%^& emptied out the big water bottle in St. Florian's cache. Also picked up an empty pint bottle at the first rescue box

Steve carried out trash and noted that someone had emptied out the water at the first rescue box
