September 29 -- Hikin' Fools Potluck!

Coleman bakery update: chocolate chip peanut butter cookies completed; molasses whole wheat bread on tap today.

Will we miss out on cookies if we postpone it? This is important!

Actually, either day is fine by me.

The "rule of threes" says that the third date we pick will be a charm...

I don't know if I'll be able to get another chance to take a Saturday off from work. The "rule of threes" says that the co-worker I've asked to switch days with me twice already for the potluck will think I'm a complete lunatic if I ask her a third time.

...and Ellen HAS baked those cookies! We wouldn't want her to have to eat them all by herself, would we?

Ellen, what do you think? Heck, Joyce and I will come out on Saturday just for the cookies (out of complete selflessness you understand, just to help Ellen out) and we can do the "real" potluck on 10/13.

What about 2 potlucks? There are shaded picnic tables at the top of the La Quinta Cove (short hike), and there's also a Las Casuelas in LQ if it's too warm to eat outside:

Might be a nice change of scenery for hiking in the morning and convenient for some of us on the east end of the valley. Farther I know for IE and LA folks, but last year's was in Yucaipa.

Will you go as my emissary Patrick? His sudden departure shocked me and left me wishing I could have met him, maybe swapped stories over a couple of beers with him. He might be surprised at how his story actually moved some people...and I'm glad he got to hit the PCT one last time. When's the date?

Here ye, here ye, potluck is going to be tomorrow starting around 2 PM at the picnic tables in Long Valley.

I'll be in the Grand Canyon on Oct 13th and Sally is booked for every Sat and Sun in October

Grandmaster Perry -- I'm sorry you got called for work.

When it gets cooler, I will be headed out to La Quinta to hike Gaudalupe to Sugarloaf. Perhpas we can set up a second potluck with the eastern desert board Plus, believe it or not, I've never been to the La Quinta Las Casuelas

OK, that settles it. Barring the unforseen, I will be at Long Valley tomorrow with Joyce in tow. I won't get there right at 1:00, but I will be there. I hope Carmegeddon II (major freeway closure) doesn't screw things up too badly.
