Does anyone know the condition of the PCT from Snow Creek?

Hi everyone. I haven't been up the PCT to San J since last October, and I'm wondering if anyone can tell me if it's still overgrown or if some trail maintenance has been done. Any word?

Hey Zip,

Can't help you on the trail conditions, but, I wonder if the fire last week went over the trail. By the looks of it, it was up around 5k ft or so.
Might be interesting to see it if it did.

Just bring some clean socks & a respirator!

Thanks guys, I guess the PCT isn't as heavily traveled as Skyline. I'll probably do a recon run before I do the whole thing again. The tricky part about the over growth is that I wouldn't be able to see rattlers along the trail, so traveling alone in areas with no cell reception could be unwise. It's such a sweet trail, I'm surprised more people aren't on it. I guess the length can be an obstacle, though.

The coolest thing about the SnowCreek route is that you can look right back to your starting place from the summit. That's really fun, as you look down and think "Whoa, I started way down there?" Skyline and C2C are kind of that way, but you can't see the exact point where you started. Maybe they can build a people mover up to an observation tower so we can see all the way down from the tram!
