Howdy All :)

Who'd like to get together on a weekend day in Long Valley after Labor Day for a hikin' fools potluck?

Sounds fun but my tramway summer pass is only good through August. But don't let that change your plans.

Florian: I know another way up there besides the tram! You can go that way to get to Long Valley and still make it. You have to walk a little while though. 8) I hope to see you up there if this comes together.

Ellen: Great idea. I think Long Valley is a good place to do it also. I usually do Whitney one Friday in early September, and I know the Tram is down for maintenance for a couple of weeks at that time too, so by "after Labor Day" I'm guessing that ultimately means late September or early October. Perfect. Lotsa people doing Skyline, maybe have a couple people go up the tram with a couple of coolers...man, I'm gonna miss Walt and Jean and their delicious Q! Think we can smuggle up some ice cold Belgian ale? Anyway, hope it comes together...I'm in!

As long as there's root beer candy.

...I'll also be showing up on foot.

Zip....you wanna do the shortcut in September?

Howdy Speedy Steve :)

Always happy to share my rootbeer candy with you 8)

Howdy Z :)

It does make sense to have the get-together after the tram reopens. The weather should be getting cooler for anyone wanting to do Skyline.

I've got dibbs on InFerno carrying up an ice-chest with White Hawk Ale

Is Gunny Walt coming home this fall?

Where the heck is Walt? Nice to see him even if all he brings is Diet Coke. :)

I'm tied up the weekend of the 15th, but otherwise any Saturday (preferred) in September will do. Sunday would work too, but I like to head over to church in a vain attempt for a guy like me to live a semi-decent life (fat chance). Whatever date is best is the date I'll shoot for.

Great idea, Ellen. I would definitely be up for it. When does the tram reopen?

Per the tram's website:
The Tramway’s annual maintenance is scheduled for September 10-23, 2012, tentatively reopening September 24, 2012.
Maybe the last weekend in September would be good?

Hey, Ellen, is August off the table? Hate to see Florian not be able to take advantage of his pass... :D
