You're going to love the Evolution Valley loop -- Evolution meadow is gorgeous and Evoluation Valley is spectacular. Sister Sally and I are hiking over Bishop Pass into Dusy basin, LeConte, and going north on the JMT late August.

Looking forward to seeing you on the trails. Hope we get better snow this year.

BTW Ellen, even with the GI history you've mentioned on the boards before, if the current condition persists, or wanes and waxes, don't overlook that Giardia may also cause increased and noxious flatus.

When I did the Kona Ironman triathlon 30 years ago, I ate bean and cheese burritos the night before.

In the water, I had great boyancy.
On the bike, I was jet propelled and no one would even think of drafting.
On the run, I blew other people away.

Every time I type your screen name, I smile

I've had giardia once (1992) due to drinking water out of Icehouse canyon and it was dreadful. Explosive gas and diarrhea, ugh

My "vital gasses" are triggered when I travel (long drive, sleeping in a new place) and especially when I drive up a twisty mountain road in the dark. It never happens driving those same roads later in the day. As my friends can unfortunately attest, this happens even on the early morning local hikes
