Climbed up to Mt. Russell last Saturday (June 9). The ridge is free of snow, no gear needed.

Interesting how the snow is all gone but that lake is still frozen.

I meant no snow gear :D Trust me, I am not that good on rock, I have my moments where I wonder what I am doing out there by myself, but I keep going back for more :o Going to try Mt. Williamson July 6-8

Brings back memories. I once spent time resting on the Russell-Carillon col with a dislocated shoulder, while my fellow climbers raced up Russell. No rescues in those days, it was a three trip from the accident in the Wallace Creek area to Whitney Portal
