Albeit brief, like 15 minutes, but the west end of the valley got a good soak.
3 different lightning strikes hit the Indian Canyons.
One at Indian Potrero,(upper Palm Cyn) one around Needles Eye( midway on West fork / Jo Pond) and the biggest which was around the Pelton / NoWest fork trail (between Murray Cyn & West Fork Cyn.
Smoke jumpers & rangers, CDF & others got them knocked down before they spread. There's plenty of red foscheck (retardent) left behind.
I was on my bicycle on Fri afternoon, and got Soaked in 3 miles! So, this small amount can help the desert a lot (especially after this drought condition), and possibly be the beginning of a good wildflower year, if we get some fall / winter precip! Let's hope so, there's so many cool canyons w/ waterfalls to enjoy if we do!
