Howdy All,

I'll be on Skyline Saturday May 26 with my friend Robert. We'll probably leave around 4 AM. Weather.com is showing a high of 84° and low of 57° for Palm Springs based on the Hour by Hour forecast. I'll keep checking to see if the trend holds.

Tomorrow (Friday May25) looks OK as well, although the low won't be as low.

I suspect the lower temperatures are due to high winds but there will still lots of radiant heat once the sun rises.

bdc, regarding the wind forecast, it shouldn't affect your hiking too much, but it has been known to cause the tram to shut down.

Hey y'all,

We're heading up skyline tonight around midnight as well. We're 3 guys (29,28, and 20), and we've been up around 5,000 ft before, but never all the way to the tram station. We've done the trail up to 3-5,000 ft dozens of times in the last couple months. We also have a solid water cache at 2,500, and we'll be on the lookout for trail regulars to tag along with. So come top up on your water w/ us, looks like these temps are going to work out just fine! I hope so! Anyone think we're setting ourselves up for trouble? See you out there!

I think the guys heading up at midnight will be surprised they could have waited until 8am and been just fine.
