yea I saw this yesterday Cameron, see if you catch me without my helmet again.

ive had that fear of large stuff breaking loose after winter and not have any way to get clear of it. especially the "volkswagen van" stuff.

we had a good time doing the Iron / Baldy traverse saturday, the SA ridge is a nice crumbly mess. we all carried 5-6 liters and by the time we hit the upper west baldy ridge we were all digging into and gathering snow from the first patch we hit.Doing it without available snow or a water stash would require a quicker pace. just over 4 to get up Iron, and then another SEVEN to get over to Baldy ! that took me by suprise. A long and tiring day, but a beautiful trip.

Hope everyone is OK on that rockfall incident.

Steve,
Nice seeing you on the Baldy Bowl Trail if you can call it a trail. Felt like a mountain goat going down that thing, and there were many places where there were several trails from people cutting the switchbacks. Some of our party went down the easier Mt Baldy trail to the visitors center but arrived after dark. Nice to meet Tina Ballina, and was that Carmen? Coming from Iron must have made for a long day. Maybe I'll see you on San Jacinto summit this weekend, May 19.
