Trail conditions PCT/Wellman's Divide to SJ summit

Planning to hike up Devil's Slide to PCT/Wellman's Divide to summit this weekend. Would appreciate any feed back about the current trail conditions and snow depth (still about 9,000 ft?). Microspikes needed or just slow & steady with my trekking poles? Thank you very much.

Good size snow fields in the middle part of that trail from Wellmans Divide to the Summit. We did OK going slow with poles. Not sure what you'll see in a week. PCT hikers crossed in running shoes, while others had their microspikes on.

We came up via Devils Slide last Saturday. On the east facing forested sections between the PCT cutoff and well past Wellmans Divide there was about 1 mile section of snow. Postholed some but not too bad. microspikes came in handy. Those PCT through hikers were out in force. Beautiful time of year out there!

We hiked up Devil's Slide to SJ summit with an overnight in Round Valley yesterday. Several snow patches on trail but all manageable with poles and many in our group just boots only. Snow seems to be melting quickly with the warm temps. It was a beautiful weekend.
