I also was doing a section of PCT April 28+9, and the wind was so fierce it snapped a backpack strap across my left cornea. Hiking with one eye shut the rest of the way altered my depth perception. I was so glad I was on the well-maintained PCT rather than Skyline at that point.

Howdy HHB :)

OUCH :( I am so sorry -- what a drag. Hope you're doing better now.

After reaching the picnic tables, I realized my knees just couldnt hang with the big boys so I bailed and rode the tram up. Shortly after, my party arrived and one, Eric, made it to the summit. Kyles ankle was still buggin from his canyoneering accident ten months ago, and I just trekked around with my new Leki poles up there. It was great to bump into familiar faces and finally meet some of you on the trail. Good luck to DK as you prepare for your rim to rim to rim hike. Ellen....your a hoot!

happy trails
