conditions from tram to San Jacinto Peak

Any update on trail conditions from the tram to the peak?
Are snow shoes required still above 9,000 ft, or is there a packed path to follow to top?

Thanks

Emailed the tram station about conditions. Here is their response

The snow line is at about the 7500’ level. There is patchy snow at the 8400’ level, 24 to 36 inches at the 9,000 foot level and about 36-48 inches at the 10,000 foot level.
A storm moving in on Wednesday and Thursday. Details are coming.

btw, my girlfriend and I are going to attempt the C2C on Saturday. Bringing snowshoes.

Any updates? I am planning on this route and staying 2 nights at LRV two weeks from now. Have snowshoes and am wondering if I should buy some microspikes "just in case."

mrzues- I did C2C yesterday. I put microspikes on twice, but it was only for a little more speed/peace of mind, and they were only on for maybe 5 minutes each time. There were lots of people up there, and nobody had spikes or snowshoes. I took the winter route up through tamarack valley, and had NO snow to deal with until just about 1/4 mile from where the wash meets the trail from Wellman divide. I heard horror stories though about the deep snow going up to Wellman from Long Valley. With snow shoes it probably wouldn't be a problem, but I would suggest the winter route, staying to the right of the snow line the whole way up. It's steep, which is tough after coming up Skyline, but I'll take steep no-snow over snow any day.
