Current conditions from idylwild deer springs-little round

I was wandering if any one knows the conditions right now from idylwild deer springs trail to little round valley campground? has most of the snow melted off at all or is it still in need of snow shoes? how about up to strawberry junction?

I had the same trip planned for this weekend - called the Long Valley Station yesterday and they said still lots of snow from Round Valley and above, but there were hiker tracks. I called Idyllwild Station this morning to change my entry from Deer Springs to Tram/Long Valley. The Idyllwild Ranger said that travel is better in the morning, pm things get slushy and snowshoes were recommended at that time. No specifics, but I hope that helps. It should be a great weekend.

The trail is clear of snow to Strawberry Junction. Not sure about north from there. Spoke to some folks coming down from LRV last weekend who said there was still quite a bit of snow above Deer Springs but it was pretty solid. Just a little postholing. They weren't carrying snow shoes. It looks like it snowed above 8K in the storm yesterday, but I doubt that much of it will stay around long. I plan to head up thay way tomorrow and will try to post again with more current conditions. It should be a gorgeous weekend in the mountains.

I was up there a couple of weeks ago and i measured snow depth of between 2 and 3 feet starting at 9,000 and 100% coverage at little round valley. Postholing was a problem. I used micro spikes, but gaiters would be useful if you don't have snow shoes. At times i was dropping in holes that were 3 feet deep which is not fun.
