Wow, where did that come from? Wasn't it cold and rainy, snowing furiously on top of the mountain just a day or two ago?

Anyway, just thought I'd mention it so no one would be caught off guard doing Skyline - it's early for this intense heat. I'm hoping to be able to pop out and do a quick trip up on Saturday. So I'll be going up pretty early. I hope to see some regulars out there.

Were there any sections of frozen snow in the shady areas of the traverse ? Just wondering whether micro spikes are needed .
If I can get out of the house I will go up early tomorrow............thanks !

It was a little warm for Skyline down below 6000 feet, say 75 degrees at the museum at 6:00 a.m. Not bad, and very pleasant up top. The snow is very limited, just a few places where you walk on it just a little, the snow was mostly nice and cold and good to eat.

Saw very few people the whole day. The season is upon us, but the heat has probably made a few people decide to wait for better conditions.

You definitely won't need microspikes.
