Jacinto snow conditions 4/15/12

Postby eric1234 » Tue Apr 17, 2012 8:01 pm

I snowshoed Jean Peak and San Jacinto Peak with some friends Sunday. There was ~6 inches at long valley, about a foot at Tamarack Valley, and waist deep going up the gully below Jean pk (if you do it without snowshoes). The snow started clumping up under the snowshoes at about 1pm. When we got back to Long Valley the snow had melted to about 4-5 inches. Temps were about 35 at the summit of San Jac.
