Gotcha. I don't wanna suggest anything like Snow Creek or whatever for obvious reasons, but if you can keep going when things are really crappy for a long time and you're really tired and the conditions suck, then you might be ready.

Ryan, you might want to clarify what a long time in crappy conditions is...I've been stuck suffering in snowcreek longer than it takes me to do skyline......and that's just the last 2000' of snowcreek

Snow Creek is like a sexy stranger. So damn attractive, but you have no idea what you're going to get.

It's just a very bad year for snow in SC. The wall that cliffed these guys out is more at 7000' than 8000' and is the next obstacle beyond the chockstone, usually covered by a winter of snow slides pilling up and covering it. most people that go in there for a snow climb...never see it.

Fern and I were turned around at the same spot last year after most of the snow was gone. Having spent a ridiculuos amount of time in there, we have found our way over it. But this year, once past that second water fall, the nightmare struggle continues for 3800'. too much exposed granite and too much unconsolidated snow makes the rest of the climb a very long and tedious struggle.
...and then the last 1000' feet can be very difficult and somewhat technical because of the exposed granite.

Not the wonderful snowclimb that it can be.
