Backwoods wrote:Oop's thank's Andy I just figured that it was the south fork becouse it's the most southern part of the river's I hike past way up in the high San Jacintos. So I checked my map and sure enough Hurkey creek feed's lake Hemet and the south fork of the San Jacinto comes out the other end of the lake I was just thinking of one river coming down from 10.000ft splitting off and no other river comes from those cyn's south of it close enough except strawberry ccreek and it starts at strawberry Cienega.
Lilbitmo My hike started at my front door on strawberry valley dr/Saunders mdw I went L hwy 243 - R tollgate RD then control rd's to R at Fisherman's point then there is realy no trail except maby look for the biggest oak on the side of the almost cliff and start down about 100 ft further on and hope for the best. I'm sory but there are just no trails and The trails I have seen on maps and GPS were grown over many years ago they just aren't there now. Once you reach the river make a R there are no trail's there either it's 90% climbing over down'd trees and boulders and going from one side of the river to the other and up the cliff in spots untill you reach Webster about 1/2 mile up river it seem's like 10 miles but fun. Webster dosent go all the way down to the river but with luck you'll hit the rite game trail and find it. Maby you should just go down webster climb around down in the cyn for awile and back up Webster. there is a flat spot by the bottom of Webster if your spending the night. My spot is pretty hard to find. That's what I did the first time I have done it 3 times now in the last 3 months. I have mixed feeling's about giving up this remote hike and I hope if anyone on this list get's the chance to enjoy it they will treat it as well as I do.
