Skyline Conditions 12/2

Howdy All :)

It was an absolutely gorgeous day with perfect temperatures. I wore shorts and t-shirt and carried warmer clothes, some of which fell out of my pack. Fortunately, my down jacket and fleece beanie did not -- I needed these when Indie Jack and I reached the traverse. There's a new dusting of snow and we donned microspikes. The trail is easy to follow -- I could see Doug's footprints from Thursday. Although the microspikes helped with traction, I had to periodically kick off snow balls forming underneath. We removed the spikes at Grubbs Notch and scrambled up the rocks. After a great lunch at guess where  I was ecstatic to find my missing clothes hanging at the sign by the trailhead.

Good to hear Ellen! That reminds me, I have your purple bandana in my car. I'll keep it in my pack for the next time we cross paths. I'm going up Sunday so maybe then? Glad to know the conditions are still welcoming.

Howdy Patrick :)

Thanks for rescuing my bandana 8) I look forward to seeing you on Skyline soon -- I'll be out there again this Saturday.

I'm really glad you got to test our your microspikes yesterday. Watch out, we'll get you into snow stuff next
