Storm system into the area later Thursday and into Friday ..

Postby TramWeatherCenter » Sun Nov 27, 2011 3:21 pm

A storm system will approach the mountain on Thursday and Friday. This system has the potential for snow levels to get down to 1000 feet in some spots, putting a hazard on the hiking trails and camping spots for the unprepared ...

Gusty winds will accompany the system. The system has a pattern reminiscing November 2004 and it will be watched as the days move on.

Thanks so much for posting this! This could be perfect timing for a Saturday snowshoe trek to the summit. Who's breaking trail??

Howdy Kathryn :)

I'm happy to break trail if there's enough snow to take the winter route up San Jacinto 8) Wait, what am I saying? We can follow the Dynamic Duo's snowshoe track

I'll have a video out by the evening on the system and explain certain scenarios and dynamics that will be put into play with it. I'm still going with snowfall in the forecast.

Hi Kevin.

Hey, I thought the Tramway folks told you not to post here any more? I don't mind, but I remember they weren't happy when you wanted to keep shutting the tram down...

Just as the DesertSun folks can quote other sources, I can quote my own as the source. It's public information that can be seen on the site and I'm trying to get that section as visible as possible ...

Too many times this season DesertSun quoted Accuweather and not looked at the official forecast for up there on that site and it has either ..

A) Been wrong..

B) Been dangerous ..

C) Made me receive a slew of e-mails asking if "InAccuweather" is correct ...

All the time I have to keep pointing to the weekly planner and video provided during each weather event that comes into the forecast area ...

I won't sign my name as working with the tram but I am the one that runs that section (weather) on the site ... my signing will probably just remain the way it is without a "specific" title ...

When taking the tram you use the official information on the weekly planner ... safety purposes ...
