Hello all!! (I learned this from Ellen)
After reading this rather long thread, I have come to the following conclusion. Since we have officially now decided that posting times is not bragging, but rather sharing our successes, I would like to share mine as well. On my second skyline I dropped my initial, rather apprehensive time of 7:49, to 6:20. The beautiful weather helped. A bit icy on the traverse but tolerable with poles.
However, I believe rather magical things must happen on this trail and making a new friend, as I did today, certainly is more important than the time, though it is the making of the new friend that made the time possible. (He is way faster and let me try to keep up!!)
In any case, on to a less important but to the general hiking public a more interesting subject.
It has come to my attention that the very creator of this thread, was recently seen break dancing after a recent skyline record setting event. Yes, our very own Patrick Supra!! And to think people thought he was bragging about his hiking skills. I think not. These skills are dwarfed in comparison to his skills on the dance floor, as one can plainly see from this photo. Hope to see you all out there soon!!
