Fern you went sub-3?! That's insane! Congrats man. You and Steve are crazy. My buddy and I always laugh about how you guys nag eachother up the entire mountain.

No, Skyline time isn't a touchy subject.

I just struggle with the fine line between the "share with me" and the "look at me" attitudes. It is both an introspective and an extrospective struggle. So, I'll continue to wonder why people, including myself, post certain information.

Just don't subtract your break time from your total time on the Skyline Trail, and try to stay on the official trail (if you can figure which one it is) when you report your time because we don't want to official records to be misleading. :)

Welcome to the Board, Fern! I think you can hike up Skyline at a faster pace than I can run downhill on pavement!

Setting PR's is fun for me as long as I don't miss anything like those deer I saw last week. I count my breaks as part of my time.

Yeah fern, welcome! I was always stuck talking with that steve guy...

I hope we're doing something Saturday - I was all psyched up for the ridge, but the recon last weekend looked like it would be impassable - the scrub oak covered the entire ridge and went down a ways on either side - 5' to 6 ' tall, thick and impenetrable.

The ridge itself looks like a very direct and pretty easy (as far as route finding goes) path, so if we can find a way to come in above the oak scrub, we'll be in. I'm thinking of scouting it from the other ridge (the one I called the spur ridge) on Thursday morning, taking a spotting scope with me to try and figure out a route, but if you guys have an idea for Saturday, I'm open.

My intention was never to "show off" so sorry if you interpretated it that way. I simply posted a short, concise trip report with my completion time, and clearly stated my time was that spent hiking.

Who is the official time keeper, I'm worried that I will get in trouble because I haven't turned in any of my times. I'm sure I'm a serious contender for slowest!
Happy Trails!

Plus by being better fit, I have seen parts of this mountian(north face)that left me in awe.and lived to tell the tale. My first skyline time 7hrs30mins and almost 300 skylines later and 12yrs .my most recent skyline was also sat.I set a new PR 2hrs59mins56sec...2hrs2mins to flatrock .and I'm stil on cloud nine.So if you keep time or just enjoy the stoll which I stil do from time to time. ITS ALL GOOD. So PAtrickSupra keep posting times and trips. Because they are people a lot more obsessed with times .....but I'm not one LOL ....this my first post I was waiting til I broke 3hrs.
