Howdy Speedy Steve :)

Gotta admit it, you had me  I thought that perhaps you, InFerno and Z-dude were duking it out.

Must have been absolutely beautiful up there.

This was my first weekend that I haven't been on San Jacinto (or another mountain) and I'm depressed

Miles of smiles,
Ellen

That was a good one Steve. I was wondering if you meant the valley station. Thought maybe the weather made you decide to take North Lykken all the way to Little Tuscany, then take that shortcut to the bend in the tram road...then tram road to the lower station...1:50! :D

Ellen, sorry to hear. You might enjoy what I did to the spammer that tried to advertise on your post...a second time!

I plan on going up Saturday, leaving around 8am, maybe a bit earlier. Did my first Skyline back in August with Ellen and have completed seven since then. This will be my first in the winter time. Will microspikes be necessary to complete the hike this weekend or since we will have had a week of sunshine, will the trail be clear of ice all the way to Long Valley? Thanks!

I have to imagine after this week it's just gonna be a little mushy by the time you get up there...maybe we'll see you up there, although I think we'll start a little sooner.

Hi Patrick, Ellen and I did Skyline today. We started at 6:00 AM. The traverse was mostly covered with icy snow, and we were glad we had our microspikes and poles. I wouldn't recommend doing it without spikes.

The snowy part of the trail was nicely etched with boot tracks and was easy to follow. Have fun!

Thanks Sally! I appreciate the feedback. Can't wait to put the spikes to the test! Thank you too Steve.
