Question about Water on Cactus to Cloud Trail

Starting at 4:00 am Saturday from Motel 6. First time on Skyline trail. I did Whitney, San Gorgonio, Baldy from the village, even San Jocinto, but not from the bottom. See you on trail.

hm, like guest mentioned, coming down does get a little different. Youre getting a late start for doing a c2c2c so I'm assuming youre in good shape, still, I wouldn't screw around alot, it's easier coming down if you have daylight.

We had a good hike but did not do the whole c2c2c. When we get back to the tram, we were tired and decided to take the tram down. It was a nice ride.

This is my first time hiking the C2C, I found some section of the trail are not very well signed. We did not miss any turn, but a few times it was confusing.

hm, I'm glad to hear you made it to the summit, then back to the tram. The 5th hardest hike in the U.S. is the C2C. Doing C2C then back down the same way?! (C2C2C) .....that would definitely be quite a bit harder.

(I did my 2nd C2C, so I was happy myself....even if it is a bit hard to walk right now! )

Starting at 4:00 am Saturday from Motel 6. First time on Skyline trail. I did Whitney, San Gorgonio, Baldy from the village, even San Jocinto, but not from the bottom. See you on trail.

I was just staying at Motel 6, as well.

We hiked the C2C trail from the bottom behind the museum up to 4650 where we had lunch and turned down. Our goal was only the first half.

One of our group took the tram up and reported back that signage at the top trailhead indicated, "severe danger due to ice."

Our weather was perfect in the low 70's at the bottom. At the lunch spot with a breeze, it was roughly low 60's.

I humped a gallon of gatorade which lasted up and then back down to the 2200 foot level. One of our group ran out earlier and was asking for shared water. She was pretty thirsty. I was fine as I could see the bottom was coming up fast and so running dry was not a problem.

That Motel 6 hot tub sure was nice after each day's hiking.
