Sounds like you had a great day! I usually do San J Peak on a weekday, so I am always amazed at how many people can be packed on that heap of rocks on a weekend.

Great pictures, thanks.
Its odd looking at your pictures since I was on the summit a week before you and the entire top 3rd of the trees was frozen. Not just frozen but with a thick layer of clear ice, like somebody had run amuck with a doctor freeze gun. The boulders around the sign were covered with slippery black ice so I didnt get anywhere near the north end to look down :)

I remembered everything for my hike EXCEPT the camera, so no good pictures at the summit of the weird ice formations.
