I have an old topo map that shows a "structure"...seemingly about a half mile or so SE of Agua Alta spring. Anyone seen anything around there? I'm partly convinced that its just a smudge on the map but hey, it gives me a chance to trampse around that area some more. Even if i'm looking for a smudge. As Steve mentioned, that whole area has that magical, walking in the footsteps of others feeling to it and is one of my top favorite get-away spots. I'm planning on putting together a multi-day trip out there this spring as its a heck of a lot easier with fresh water.

And to the original poster...Sorry, I've pretty much stayed in Martinez proper so can't give you any advise on anything north of there.

Lastly, i've seen some huge rattlers out there. i know they're almost everywhere but when your miles away from cell coverage, it kinda makes you think.....be careful and have fun!

Hey Steve. Chilly up here this morning. 34F and a good amount of rain last night. Has me thinking about the Santa Rosas, but sounds like it will be better to wait until there has been more rain. Would Martinez Creek typically have decent water in the winter/spring after some snow and rain?

Last year, even at the time we ran into you back there, the flow in martinez was good. I was drinking straight out of the creek..no filtering.
