Is there currently water flowing at Round Valley that you can drink?

Didn't make it to RV this weekend, but met several hikers on my way down from the peak who had camped there on Sat. They told me the water was flowing good. I camped in little Round Valley which has great water. Kinda chilly in the morning at that elevation. Was wishing I had brought some gloves.

Water normally flows from the pipe at the trail junction. As for drinking, I think that it's best to treat the water or filter it with a backpacking type filter.

I've always wondered if that is necessary. I've heard Riverside county has stricter water standards than other counties & the water would pass tests elsewhere.
Get out of that damn contraption & walk!
