Try posting over on the san g board. Pi still posts there from time to time. Those were some great pics, but I'm glad I wasn't the one taking them.

Howdy Pi :)

What a coincidence this thread came back up -- Sally and I had a long discussion about your mountain lion encounter as we descended down the ridge to Angelus Oaks.

We noted that your pictures and captions are good enough to be published. Did you also take a video? If so, I missed it.

Miles of smiles,
Ellen

I like the way Mama holds onto the scree with her curved tail. I could use one of those.

just to be less subtle, I think the reason he took down the photos temporarily (and edited text) is because there are dipshit hunters who are reading boards and his photos trying to find out where the lions are.

Yes, Ze' had that, now, it's treasure hunters: they stole Lear jet Window, so I just keep my mouth shut..better for everyone probably, I'm sure someone will pinch that special summit registry w/Cy's 1968 entries :x :x
I like the Gold Dollar mine, wish you had more pics of Stamp et. al. I'm studying Algernon Del Mar's books/found his dam in Arrastre Creek last months, and lots of cool stuff at Blackhawk Mine.
Ellen, funny seems like anything online is basically "PUBLISHED"... How About a PSA.... just a pamplet/small booklet on Mountain Lion Safety/Education that could be handed out anywhere.
do's/don'ts and what worked for me/best pics.
Others:
-SGW Guide to East that includes pics.
-Self-belay, whippet-head hiking pole, with built-in pepper spray, trigger/cartridge in handle, discharge below bail, Point & Shoot.

Still more afraid 2 drive or surf OC than hike alone with Lions!

You got that right Pi. You'd probably be safer hiking with those kitty kats wearing a hula skirt made of pork chops, than you would be surfing the HB pier.
