Death Valley Run is Done

Postby Cy Kaicener » Fri Sep 02, 2011 2:15 pm

Would you believe that a couple of very strong guys ran 180 miles around Death Valley in five days in temperatures up to 120 degrees
They drank 25 gallons of water. Cool video (hot video)

With a bit more practice maybe one day they'll be able to keep up with Steve and Fern!

But seriously, I envy them. What fun that would be! (Though maybe in a little cooler weather, like February maybe?)

They mentioned that much of it was so rough it turned from a run into a hike. In 120 degree weather, I think I would run almost 100% of the time...the first 50 feet heading out from my car, a brief pause when I realize that I must be out of my mind, then the same 50 feet back to my car.

Those guys are tough. Good for them.

You are right Zip. Winter is definately the sensible time to do it.

Closer to home, the Mt Baldy run is on Labor Day. i will go on a slow walk.
