Water source between LRV Campground and summit?

Is there a reliable (as in good for the next 2 weeks) water source between LRV Campground and the summit? If so, is it running water (I'll chem treat it) or standing (ugh....filter)?

It's just a mile or so from LRV to summit. Don't think there is any water except maybe what someone has left in the summit hut.

Maybe I've got this wrong. I meant Round Valley Campground to the summit. I thought it was about 3 miles to the Campground, and another 4 to the Summit. I need to check this out if I got it that wrong.

Still interested if there is water between Round Valley Campground and the top.

Yeah, I misspoke. We're camping at Round Valley Campground, and then slackpacking to the Summit. So that's the stretch I'd like to know about water sources, since I'd rather not bulk up for the whole day. But if I gotta, I gotta.

So help me out: Load up at the campground, or can I find something treatable, and if so, is it running (stream/spring) or sanding (which means filtering, ugh).

Tramway to Round Valley is about 2 miles. (I'm assuming you're coming in via tramway?) There is water in Round Valley. RV to summit is about 3.5 miles and no water along trail. Unless you detour south from Wellman Divide about half a mile to Wellman Cienega. Nice water there. But Wellman Divide is only 1 mile from RV and you have to go down to the cienega and back up. So basically water in RV and none between RV and summit. Does that clarify or confuse?

my notes from weds jul 13 indicate it's 2.1 from long valley to round valley. then 1.0 from round valley to wellman junction. then 2.4 to the summit use trail. and then 0.3 on the use trail to the summit.

there is, and it's in the creek a little off-trail along the one-mile stretch from round valley up to wellman junction. to me it seems like a 'why bother' to filter there. just carry your water. no water between wellman junction and the summit.

That's the info I needed, although it's not the info I wanted. In a perfect world, there is a piped spring on the summit, flowing from a highly localized rainstorm (about 2 feet in diameter, but constant, hafta ask Dallas to make the arrangements), and I wouldn't have to carry water for 7 miles. Lacking sherpas, I'll carry the water and won't bother to carry iodine or a filter.
