Yesterday (June 22) we went up Vivian to the creek, then took the cross country route up the ridge to Dobbs. I wore long pants for this part as I'm trying to decrease my blood loss

in preparation for hiking the John Muir trail. I think the gnats followed me from San Jacinto -- they were out in force on San G
Can't believe the snow melt in just 11 days. Hardly any on the Dobbs plateau. We headed northeast and gained the Sky High trail to San Gorgonio. We had the summit to ourselves for nearly an hour. The snow on the traverse was almost completely melted out

At about 10.5 K, we started running into folks who asked us how much further and whether they'd have any problems finding the trail when they descended
At 10 K, we met a local hiker who informed us that we were psychotic once he heard about our hike

Sally responded, "Yes, we hear that frequently." Great water flow at High Creek camp as well as in the stream that runs next to the trail after the Halfway camp intersection. Soaked our feet in Mill Creek before having an excellent meal at El Mexicano. Thanks to Sister Sally for another great day.
Miles of smiles,
Ellen
