Hey Sam. I think maybe she did an overnighter in the San Bernardino's with Sally.

That was posted before Connie realized that Ellen was on an overnighter.

Besides, she can't go missing on SB Peak. There's no hut up there.

Ellen is alive and well (if her family hasn't killed her). We had a lovely and otherwise uneventful overnighter on San Gorgonio. We were back at the trailhead by 3:30 this afternoon. Folks, be SURE your loved ones know your plans before you head out there. This was purely a matter of mis-communication.

Thank you all for your concern.

My Dear Friends,

I am so terribly sorry -- this was a communication error   . I apologize sincerely for causing any worry.

Thank you so much for your concern.

I'll post more later, but now I want to crawl under a rock.

From the heart,
Ellen

The great news is you weren't under any rocks :D it just means that family and friends care about you, one two minute search on-line "white pages" for Larry and Sally's home number, a call to him and we all knew you were fine.

Thanks go out to your sister for letting us know, Sam for posting and spreading the word and good job to both of you for sending the spot signal yesterday which Larry gladly acknowledge helped him know you both were ok.

It was easy from there to put Larry, Connie and the Paul Franklin from San Bernadino Country Sherrif's department together to call off the search.

You are welcome to add more of us to your "spot" emails and for those who want added security you are welcome to post or email what your plans are so we know when you are due back and what instructions you want us to give to the SAR or Mountain Rescue should the need ever arise.

Glad you had a fun and safe trip, look forward to the TR and pictures. :D

Oddly, maybe incorrectly, but I have no fear that Ellen, or really any Hikin' Fool, will run into serious trouble in the summer. Except for snake bite (have I mentioned that I hate snakes?) there's nothing really that we couldn't just go find a friend out there and fix - or at least wait with 'em til the helicopter ride down. I didn't see this til Monday night at 11, but it seemed really curious rather than frightful. I was up SB Peak trail this morning - I can tell you for sure Ellen's not there! Glad all is well, and it's nice to keep each other on the radar all year round so we have company if something comes up!
