Spring has sprung. Devil's Slide is clear with many transient springs. From junction to Taquitz Peak, there are several small snow fields along PCT and the short trail to the peak. All were pretty easily crossed with just trekking poles (a bit of care along the peak trail as a couple fields could be a long, nasty slide if you misstep). Looks like they are re-roofing the lookout tower. Fallen trees have been cleared.
Cutting back through Little Tahquitz Valley, again small snow fields well marked with PCT thru hiker dirt. The meadows in Tahquitz Valley and Skunk Cabbage are just greening up. Grass and skunk cabbage along water are 6-12 inch tall, and the swallows are plentiful. No ferns yet, but in sunnier areas they are just peaking.
Water, water everywhere. No real flowers yets. Enjoy!
