Stable Snow up high?

Postby fromChicago » Fri Mar 25, 2011 11:49 am

Hey all, just checking to see if anyone has some good beta on snow conditions on the north face (legal approach of course). I've been noticing quite a bit of snow in the high-altitude weather records so I just need to know if it is consolidated and stable.

I did a north side route last week before the storm, and it was mostly unconsolidated in the afternoon. But since then it snowed a lot. My guess is that it will be roughly three weeks before things firm up again on the north-facing slopes.

Yeah, probably dangerous and/or a nightmare for climbing at the moment.
