Falls Creek Climb

A few days ago, we skirted way around the DWA's one square mile of private property and climbed Falls Creek to the crest. It took over 14 hours to go from 1200 feet to 8800 feet.

WOW. Heck of a write up, and a heck of a climb.

Did you guys have to get rock climbing gear out to ascend the falls pictured or were you able to go around?

Congratulations to you Sam, and Patrick! What an amazing feat and follow through to your failed attempt of two weeks ago. This shows your persistence, and perseverance. If my figuring is right, you guys worked 30 hours between the 2 trips to make the successful summit. 16 hours the first time, and 14 hours this time, WOW! Impressive!

I dont think you're allowed to be ANYWHERE on THAT side of San Jacinto. There are people that believe they own the road AND the mountain...watch it.

Great job Sam and Patrick! Obviously you learned a lot from your recon and figured out how to make that nasty route as un-nasty as possible.

Hikin_Jim: We did not need rock climbing gear to get over that waterfall. We just scrambled up on the right side. It was a little dicey, though, and probably will become more so as the snow melts.

In theory, you're supposed to be able to hike the PCT. I wonder how many of those people get trespass notices on their cars. Of course this whole issue never would have been much of an issue if climbers weren't walking right in front of the caretaker's cabin, thus pissing off the caretaker.

We disliked ourselves so much that we went back to get more pain

The first attempt taught us that scrambling should be kept to a minimum - though we made it through, this is an extremely difficult route, the pictures below will show what happened to some others that were caught by that famous "agency" that doesn't want any of us up there

As stated, we stayed way away from any parts of their "kingdom", but obviously you can see what happens when some get caught

The last victim we mourned over and "Gumby" was taken aback so much that he decided to stay to be the lookout for the "Ninja's" just in case anyone fell behind


All kidding aside, since I know you are (and by "You" I don't need to clarify, you know who you are) monitoring this site, we respect your property, we don't want to go on your property, we drink the water and want it as pure as mother nature has made it, we want a clean environment in the wilderness, we are not the problem, so please show us the respect we deserve and we will reciprocate that respect.

The north side of the mountain is way to beautiful (and special) to let anything happen to it, so let's work together to make sure nothing does, not create hostility towards those of us that want to use it for the right reasons and make us out to be villians that are uncaring or unrespective of your rights to protect what is yours - the "Idiom" still applies - "You catch more flies with honey, than you do with vinegar"

There's a solution here - harrassment is not it, understanding and committment on both sides of the "idealogy" and a willingness to comprimise is, we just have to get past the "negative" and move into the solution, I welcome you to join us in trying to find that?

The mountains are like a second home for me, so when someone or something tries to make it ugly, it offends me but I want to move past that, thanks for letting me rant.

I run that trail out there at snow creek every once n a while, and park right at the gate, and never had any problems. But im not there long, just do 10 miles then head out. all the water guys hav ever said to me is "watch out for snakes" caus they like to warm up on the paved part of the road
