There's a lot of history and legends about Saint Jacinto... and I find it extremely interesting. When I climb a mountain, I like to be taken back in time and imagine all the events that happened and may have happened on it. I like to look at the rock formations and ponder how they came to be; as well as the overall shape of the mountain. I like to imagine native Americans drinking from a spring I cross, and looking at jagged peaks in the same manner as they did; as if gods inhabited them. From way back then until the more recent events as well...
I found some interesting legends about an evil God on Tahquitz (http://www.tahquitzcanyon.com/Thelegend.html) as well as military training on Snow Creek, etc.
But I ask of you all, what do you know of this mountain? From geological formations, to ancient folklore, to more recent events of it? Also, please feel free to speculate and throw in ideas..
