Sounds horrible! Well, the brush, I mean.
The pics and the TR were great, and I know what you mean about that feeling you get when you realize you're not on track and contemplating trying to get down an exposed precipice. Trying that in the dark would be beyond spooky. Glad you all had a good time and made it back out alive!
I'm wondering if there wouldn't be a possible path on the west side of that north face, along Snow Creek, coming down from the PCT above (south) of DWA land to the drainage. I contemplated that a couple weeks ago when I took that pic I posted. You'd only lose a few hundred feet...but I don't know about the brush. It might be fun if there's limited bushwhackin'.
