! Well, I'm no fan of coyotes, but they're better than rattlers and black widows!

That sux. poor coyote. I love it when they come to the housing community where i live because they kill lotsa ducks, I hate all the f**king stupid ducks at the ponds here, worthless things just shit everywhere including my pool. I will PAY to have some more coyotes sent to my place! Id just shoot the damn ducks, but its probably illegal to fire a gun in this condo area  Coyotes rule cause they only drink outa my pool, not shit in it!

Aw, don't be a hater!

Before you go killing those poor little duckies, I think recordalley has some ferocious cows he'd like someone to handle. He describes them the same way you do ducks!

I dont hate the cows, it's the BLM. They are the ones who allow open grazing on public lands including our national monuments (gsenm for one).
Get out of that damn contraption & walk!

I'd agree with Zip, Coyotes are too smart to get in a bind like this I'd bet, I've seen some people, like ranchers do this, unfortunately because they believe the animals that they "own" are more important.
Coyotes are doing what they do, hunt & eat, ,,or die.

I've heard some bears have "attacked" some people in Alaska I think, trying to get at the salmon that these fishermen are catching, since it's an important food for bears, and it's been over-fished, so less food for the bears.

Its still quite common on open western rangeland. I've seen it done in northern and eastern Nevada. Ranchers still shoot 'em and hang the carcasses from fence posts or wire. Used to be done to try and scare other coyotes, these days its to get rid of the body faster; in the words of Outlaw Josie Wales "buzzards gotta eat, worms too".

I could use a few coyotes in my neighborhood; there are way too many stray cats running around here. O.C. Animal Control won't do anything to capture the strays, won't even loan me a trap to do it for them, and warned me its illegal to trap cats.
3 of the 5 voices in my head are telling me to "Go for it!"

phydeux, I could use some of your stray cats in my neighborhood. The gophers here are tearing up my yard and garden. Hmmm... I see a pattern here: gopher eats garden, cat eats gopher, coyote eats cat , rancher kills coyote. The main difference is the critters are just trying to have a meal, but the rancher is just using the coyote as a trophy on his fence. What a waste.

I dunno Sally. I think the Ninja Cows theory is still the best explanation. They, like ducks, can be unexpectedly aggressive. I once saw a cow climb a chain link fence, crap in someone's pool, and then pretend like he was a duck. Evil and sophisticated at once. Pretty scary, really.
