skyline access

Has anyone every accessed skyline trail from the ridge line south of the tram road? The ridge accessed from the north end of the North Lyken trail.

If so, is it pretty exposed?
Thanks,
Gary

I was out there a couple weeks ago and it doesn't look too exposed from where I was looking. I'd love to know if it goes.

Hi Gary,
I've eyed that ridge a few times, looks doable, not sure where it might connect with skyline, hopefully approx. 5k, otherwise it would get really steep, as well as really brushy once in manzanita elevation.

I climbed a little ways past the tables on the N end of the N Lykken, that part looks great!

I'd say it would be best to stay on top of the ridge, as we do on N Ridge route, otherwise, the north sides get brushier.

After looking at the topo, i believe the ridge will hit the skyline trail below 5000 feet; before flat rock. Not sure though, but if everything goes right I will try this coming Tuesday. thanks for the feedback.
