C2C conditions in April?

Hi, I'm an avid trail runner/hiker from Louisville, ky. I'll be in Palm D. for vaction the first week in april and was wondering if it is possible to complete this trail at that time of year? I've gone up the Tram before and hiked some of the trails at the top, that was in November a few years back. Since then i've been bit by the long distance trail running bug. I've done a few endurance trail races, and summited a few 14er's(longs) in CO. I would LOVE to add this to my summit list. It is truely an epic, world reknown trek. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanx Z09

Shouldn't be a problem, as long as your are prepared for snow.

hey Phantom,
April can have snow as low as 7-8k, or very little at higher elevations, just depends on the year.
Last couple, we had about 60% overage around the tram, and of course, a lot more higher up.
Skyline, (1st 1/2 of c2c, if you can call it that), might be runnable / hike-able without much problem, could even be a bit hot from the beginning to 5 or 6k, be prepared with a gallon & electro-lytes.

Keep checking this board for conditions.

BTW, some of the better runners can only really run about 1/3 of Skyline, the 2nd 1/2 to the peak, (w/out snow), is more gradual & runnable.

thanx for the beta yall. It seems there is a great community out there that travel this route frequently. I'll be sure to check back on here closer to the date. I'm hoping they'll be a group I can "tag along" with sometime that week. I read and watched via utube a few video trip reports. And i can see what you mean about overall runablility, Looks more like a rock climbing approah than a running trail, but a fantastic accomplishment regardless.
