Uh... Well, actually, I found him to be... well, let's just say he's consistent both on and off line.

Thanks everyone!

Zip, I had no idea the group would get people so fast. It's all very surprising and really fun watching it come to life!

Group hiking is about working together as a group. I'm finding this is the hardest part about these meetup groups. Lots of people want to go on group hikes, but they don't want to work together as a group on the hike.

Kinda funny, that.

This always baffle me: Have you ever seen a man and his wife, walking at a brisk pace (ostensibly for exercise) along a road, with him walking 10 feet directly in front of her? Since she's staying 10 feet behind him, they're going the exact same pace...so if he would stop for 5.867 seconds (yes, that is calculate out and is accurate to the thousandth of a second, it's not going to cost him all that much time!) then they could walk together. What a concept!

Mind you, I know it's none of my business, but it sure seems strange to me.

Oh, sure, like I've got 5.867 seconds just laying around. I guess life just flows at a different pace in Yucaipa.

I feel for you group organizers. I like everyone i've ever met via a group hike. But for me hiking has always been a mostly solitary endeavor. I think generally people that hike are self-sufficient types. That's probably why it's hard to organize us. But i still like everyone in a group and it's fun to share. So i follow the group postings and once in a while i'll join a group outing.
