If you have to do this to get to your destination....stay on the sidewalks and streets, you've already payed to have this done.

Seriously asshole, if you can't get through a little urban wilderness without spray painting rocks...why don't you get your fuc&ing workout at the mall !!

This is between 3800' and 4800' on skyline nov.17 on main and secondary trails.

If your reading this I hope you realize what an idiot you are.

Yeah...people can be pretty thoughtless. Whats even worse for me on unofficial "signs" like this is what kind of clout does this navigator have? I've gotten myself into trouble several times by following the other guy's marker, be it a cairn, flagging tape or trail graffiti. Worst time was while caving and foolishly following some signs to the exit, only to end up in some deep, dark corner with a huge skull and crossbones spray painted on the wall and few expletives thrown in for good measure.

So yeah, leave the spray paint for the train cars and freeway overpasses!

I doubt they read this board. Still, thanks for the heads up. Did you flip the smaller ones? If someone else doesn't beat me to it, I'll make the larger ones disappear just like the orange dots did.

Such a shame that tarring and feathering is no longer in style.

Morons

Postby halhiker » Thu Nov 18, 2010 11:47 am

Saw similar damage on the Art Smith Trail last year. Some moron thought it was a good idea to spray paint mileage on rocks. Thankfully, those numbers were easy to remove.

When you're up there this weekend, make sure you also kick over any ducks and take down any tree decorations, will ya?

Do you guys have a "recommended" procedure to remove these eyesores?
I'll be glad to help remove them as I see them in my travels.

Yes, there is something to be said for certain historical punnishments

Wish we could train the rattlers on Skyline to fang anyone painting a rock

Howdy Lightgy :)

Back in the spring of 2007, some bozo spray painted rocks with orange dots  Z-dude carried a can of granite spray paint and covered up the orange dots.

Howdy Z-dude and Speedy Steve :)

Thanks, as always, for your work on keeping Skyline wild.
