(insert sarcastic tone)
The best thing about excessively decorated wild trees is their amazing ability to resurrect themselves from astonishing abuse. Persons should note that placing good taste aside when adorning these trees is all important to their success and will only add to ones bounty. A fine example is the famous Shoe Tree near the Amboy, CA. This once thriving specimen of the roadside variety produced a bountiful harvest of unwanted footware (river) season after (river) season. Sadly, this Tamarisk/Nike hybrid met its, albeit temporary demise after being dowsed with gasoline and set ablaze; likely by a sneaker manufacturer afraid of the inevitable bumper-crop about to be dropped on the market. However...as with all miracles, our little tree that could bounced back with even more vigor than before, offering a slice of joy to all who travel this lonely trail.... I mean highway.

Sorry, I just had to. And Tina, I'm still a supporter of your tree and if I ever get off of this keyboard, I plan on adding my own little piece of cheer
