Something else to worry about?

Gee, I thought the mountain lions, snakes, heat, falling rocks, rabid squirrels were the only things to worry about, but killer mountain goats?

What, nobody could pick up a stick and whack the thing? It seems that time must have been a critical factor, which would indicate severe bleeding...no one noticed that? Bizarre story. Should have ended like this:

After the aggressive goat tried to guard the body, his companions picked up a large stick and made it into a new type of goat called a Dead Goat.

The injured man was quickly whisked off to medical care, and was later released from the hospital. He plans to return to hiking as soon as possible, but will carry "Goat Spray" in the future.

I can testify to the peskiness of mountain goats in the Olympic mountains. We were backpacking in the area of Seven Lakes Basin a couple of years ago. A small herd of these goats came through our camp while we were trying to eat dinner, and they pretty much ignored our attempts to shoo them away. After reading the article, I'm glad we didn't REALLY tick them off!
