Harry Quach just posted a great trip report on Martinez. I climbed it in 1969.

Hi, um, Harry. Was good to meet you too. And thanks Cy for posting the links. 29 people on your Martinez Mtn hike!? That's a lot of hikers but i guess the Sierra Club is known for its large group outings.

Florian - I was once on a trip in the Sierras with 109 people
They have since then restricted the size thank god.
Mark was on Sheep Mountain (close to Martinez) and said that he saw my name in the summit register dated back to 1967. That really dates me.

Thanks for posting the register page hvydrt. That made my day 8)
Florian - Herb Sabin has no connection with Doreen Sabia.
Harry - I saw your trip report on Summitpost and was hoping you would post it on this board before I did. I am hoping to do Skyline on Oct 23 with the Sierra Club ( just before midnight on Friday)

Cy, thanks for the Sabin/Sabia clarification. Duh on my part.

I didn't get any interesting photos as Harry and Mark did. But i did take this shot of myself during the hike on 10/10/10 @ 10:10am ► http://flic.kr/p/8HXG96

Thanks for the posts guys, that's a wild area, looks like the views were excellent!
Sometimes you just have to try a different route back, it's that exploring spirit, and wanting to cut off some mileage is a good motivator too.

Thanks for reminding me it's now taranchula season, I love those guys.
